Pastor
Dewayne Hoppert
Dr. Dewayne I. Hoppert
Bro. Hoppert became our Pastor following the death of his father (our former Pastor) in 1988. He and
his wife Billie Sue, along with their daughters Karen and Becky moved to Tulare from Little Rock,
Arkansas where he had been the Pastor of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Mabelvale since
1981.

Bro. Hoppert, a long-time resident of the San Joaquin Valley, had moved his family to Little Rock in
1980 so that he might attend the Missionary Baptist Seminary in preparation for the ministry of the
Gospel.

Bro. Hoppert holds the following degrees from the Seminary in Little Rock: Bachelor of Theology;
Bachelor of Bible Languages; Master of Bible Languages and Doctor of Bible Languages.

Bro. Hoppert has written and published four books: "Abraham, the Journey to Faith"; "Free, A Fresh
Look at Basic Bible Teachings"; "Discovering Acts," a comprehensive commentary on the book of
Acts; and his most recent, "A Crisis in Church Leadership: What Happens When Sheep Hire the
Shepherd." Two of these, "Abraham," and "Free," have also been published in Spanish.

During his ministry in Tulare, the Church has relocated to a new 16,000 square foot facility occupied
in 1992. In 1995, following the leadership of the Lord, the Church established the Tulare Missionary
Baptist Seminary for the purpose of training men for the ministry of the Gospel and equipping
Christians for greater service to the Lord. Bro. Hoppert serves as President of the Seminary.
